A little about me...

I was born and raised in California and left home after high school to join the U.S. Air Force. In the military I had the chance to live for several years  in the Phililppines, and to travel throughout Asia and the U.S.  Over the years I completed college and grad school, which was just the beginning of a lifetime of happy learning that continues today.

My first love, creatively, was writing - stories, articles, poetry. Now however, I am the most interested in the visual arts, with a fascination for and delight in all things tactile and textural, which makes encaustic my favorite medium.  That said, I also enjoy working with watercolor, fused glass, clay, wood, fibers and beads.   I have exhibited in juried, solo and

group shows, and am fortunate to have much of my work held in private collections.

My greatest inspiration comes from God and the nature He has created all around us, so I am never at a loss for ideas,

whatever the medium.  Whether I'm writing, painting a picture or creating a sculpture, I strive for the end result to

be something meaningful that causes the reader or viewer to engage, feel something, or be moved in some way; I want them to smile, laugh, gasp, feel inspired, feel nostalgic, or simply be transported to another place for a moment in time.

I am equally inspired to teach others about the creative process and how delightful it can be. Art is for Everyone!

I exhibit and teach in Maryland, DC, Virginia, Deleware and anywhere else I am invited!
