                                            Encaustic paintings are unique, each having its own special mix of colors and textures. Part of the beauty of                                              owning an encaustic is that, if cared for properly, it will outlive the owner and can be handed down through                                                  the generations.  Equally appealing is that touching the artwork will not harm it. I encourage viewers to feel 

                                            all the various textures and nuances. Children, whose curiosity and fingers seem perpetually conjoined, are

                                            especially drawn to the tactile attributes of these works, and are delighted to be allowed to experience them

                                            (gently) with their hands.

Encaustic painting (painting with pigmented beeswax), first used in Greece, is one of the oldest art forms. The name comes from the
