Encaustic paintings are unique, each having its own special mix of colors and textures. Part of the beauty of owning an encaustic is that, if cared for properly, it will outlive the owner and can be handed down through the generations. Equally appealing is that touching the artwork will not harm it. I encourage viewers to feel
all the various textures and nuances. Children, whose curiosity and fingers seem perpetually conjoined, are
especially drawn to the tactile attributes of these works, and are delighted to be allowed to experience them
(gently) with their hands.
